"Why Risen Motherhood Is On My Nightstand (Even If I Haven't Cracked It Open Yet)"
I'll be honest: I haven't read Risen Motherhood yet. It's sitting there next to Gospel Mom on my nightstand with a half-full coffee mug, a pacifier, and about three chapsticks I keep losing and re-finding. But even though I haven't opened the cover, I already know this book was written for mamas like myself.
Because if I had to guess. Risen Motherhood isn't about having perfectly packed diaper bags or meal plans that somehow stay hot and nutritious. It's about Jesus meeting us in the beautiful, messy, chaos of motherhood.
It's for the mom who's bottle-feeding in the middle of the night and wondering if she's doing it "right."
For the mom who loves her baby so fiercely it makes her cry—but also feels like she's running on fumes.
It's for the mama juggling a hundred little things, all while holding space in her heart for the one Big Thing: grace.
I don't need to read the whole book to know this is the kind of encouragement that points me back to what matters most—Christ at the center of it all. I think that's what drew me to it in the first place. Not the cute cover (though yes, it's adorable), not the popularity (though clearly lots of mamas have found hope in these pages), but the reminder that our motherhood isn't meant to be carried alone.
So if you're like me—maybe you've heard of the book, maybe it's in your Amazon cart, or maybe it's gathering a bit of dust while you tend to the day-to-day—here's your gentle nudge: we don't have to "get it all right." We just have to stay rooted in the One who already has.
Here's to motherhood that's less about perfection, and more about resurrection.
And I'll let you know when I finally crack it open—promise.
